Great Performance & Sporty Styling with Room for Minor Tweaks

I recently drove my friend’s Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line for under 500 km, and it was a thrilling ride. The 2.0L TSI petrol turbo engine paired with the automatic gearbox is super punchy and offers effortless highway overtaking. The cabin feels premium, and I particularly noticed the impressive acoustic noise isolation, though it seems primarily focused on the front windows. On the flip side, a couple of things could be better: the ride quality feels a bit firm over harsh city bumps, and rear-seat passengers would benefit from better cabin noise damping at higher speeds. Overall, it’s a dynamic 4

Don't listen to the reviews

I’ve done 9,800 km in my Tiguan R-Line, and if you’re someone who enjoys driving, don’t listen to the noise people make about the price—it’s worth it. The 2.0 TSI paired with the DSG transmission and DCC is not comparable to any car in this price segment. The handling is amazing and it takes corners without any hesitation. The DCC really shines when you’re doing 120+ on wavy roads—the car just grips the road like it’s on rails. They could have opted for the higher-tuned 2.0 that’s in the Golf GTI, but that won’t be noticeable for most drivers.
