Pros & cons

From expert reviews

What's good
  • Delivers slightly above 350km range.
  • Good under-thigh support.
  • High tech dampers improve the ride quality.
  • Highest in the segment boot space of 378-litres.
  • 0-100kmph of 8.3 seconds is quicker than the Nexon.
What could be better
  • Looks too similar to the XUV300.
  • Quality/dash design looks dated in an EV.
  • Dials and screen look inappropriate for an EV.

So the XUV400 is a proper Mahindra and a proper EV. But is it?

Range issue

Only provides a 220km range. The company claims 456km, and any city going to the Mahindra showroom does not have a fast charger available. Mahindra service is very poor. The price is very high. Mahindra EV 400 looks good, but the interior is not good. Don't purchase the Mahindra EV car. Mahindra 400's boot space is good, ground clearance is also good, but the range is very bad.

Major cons is mahindra not provide 4 cylinder's petrol engines not provide mahindra petrol vehicles many user reporting 4 cylinders update .

Pros. First one is, all four disc brakes provide Mahindra 3xo and XUV400, this is good. Cons. The first one is the XUV 400 petrol and turbo petrol engine, not provided by Mahindra. This is a major con. The 2026- 2027 XUV400 provides a 1.5 L petrol 4-cylinder DOHC engine. 1.5 L turbo petrol 4 cylinders DoHc engine is provided. Many Mahindra fans are waiting. And the Mahindra 3xo 1.5 L petrol 4-cylinder engine provides many Mahindra 3xo fans waiting for all four disc brakes to be provided. Mahindra's major con is 3 cylinders petrol engine is the worst in terms of engine noise and vibration comi

Switched to XUV400 – No Regrets!

I purchased the Mahindra XUV400 about 10 months ago and have driven close to 11,000 kms so far. Overall, it has been a very satisfying and practical ownership experience. The highlight of this car is definitely its performance; instant torque makes city driving very smooth, and the acceleration feels quick and effortless compared to the Nexon or Windsor. It is also quite stable at higher speeds, which adds confidence on highways. The ride quality is comfortable, and it handles rough Indian roads quite well. In terms of range, real-world figures can be slightly lower than claimed, especially wi
